The video game has become enormously democratized on mobile and it is no longer necessary to have a high-end best gaming phone to run the most demanding titles. 1. Asus ROG Phone 5
The Asus ROG Phone 5 is unsurprisingly a very good gaming smartphone, if not the best. Its main advantage? Almost endless customization possibilities. Thanks to software totally at the service of the gaming experience, you can profoundly change your gaming experience thanks to the ROG Phone 5.
Now we have to put this smartphone in context. And in this case in the context of its release in France. Is our country’s market sensitive to this type of device? Personally, I doubt it. Of course, the ROG Phone 5 isn’t just a gaming phone. It also offers excellent visual performance and above all autonomy in reinforced concrete. But it remains difficult to access because of a design that still makes it a niche product.
We are satisfied despite everything that Asus lowers the barrier to entry this year. The ROG Phone 5 starts bidding at PKR 159999 for the 8+128 GB model. A sufficient gesture to legitimize this type of device in France? The question is asked. But if we have to be perfectly honest, we are still struggling to find any real interest in a gaming smartphone that, on paper, offers the same performance as most devices under Snapdragon 888. Of course, the various software optimizations distinguish the ROG 5 from the competition. But for casual, non-competitive gamers, a Bluetooth controller would do just as well.

1. Xiaomi 12 Pro
Did we have a good time with the Xiaomi 12 Pro? Yes. Did we expect more? Certainly. The new top of the range from Xiaomi does not lack qualities but sometimes misses its subject, either by accusing regrettable oversights or by being less competitive than its fiercest competitors.
Yes, its screen is sublime and flawlessly responsive. Yes, the smartphone offers excellent vibrations, top performance, and correct autonomy for its positioning. Despite everything, it is not yet fully developed on the photography side and misses the step of durability: no waterproof certification is on the program, and the manufacturer only promises four years of updates. against five at Google or Samsung.
So yes, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is a little gem of technology. But not enough for Rs. 208,999. Inevitably, the biggest problem with this smartphone is its prohibitive price, which appears to be out of step with more modest but also more interesting proposals.

3. Xiaomi POCO F3
Impressive. If there were only one word left at the end of our time spent with the Xiaomi POCO F3, we would choose this one.
Almost unbeatable, at the same price, on the quality of its screen, the speed of its processor, and the autonomy it manages to maintain despite a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the Poco F3 only starts our enthusiasm at the margin, with its secondary and tertiary photo sensors.
The pickiest would no doubt find fault with the lack of a jack port or the incompatibility with wireless charging. But you have to remember that the POCO F3 is sold for Rs. 55,999. And at this price, we have rarely seen such an ambitious smartphone.

4. OnePlus 9 Pro
The OnePlus 9 Pro is a high-end smartphone that makes almost no concessions. Like every year, the Chinese manufacturer takes the strengths of these previous models and improves their weaknesses point by point. This year OnePlus is making a significant leap in photography thanks to its partnership with Hasselblad. The OnePlus 9 Pro no longer has to be ashamed of its direct competitors on this point, even if there is still room for improvement in night shots. We can’t wait to see the future of this promising partnership.
On the other hand, we regret that the autonomy of the OnePlus 9 Pro does not keep its promises. With a day to a day and a half at most, it is even behind the 8 Pro. For the rest, it’s flawless. From premium design to a perfect screen, impressive performance, a pleasant interface and even convincing speakers. The OnePlus 9 Pro didn’t lack much to get the maximum score. The price of OnePlus 9 Pro in Pakistan is Rs. 164,999.
5. Realme GT 5G
If not a paragon of originality, the realme GT is a very convincing smartphone in many aspects. We appreciate its careful construction, the processing power of its electronics as well as the quality of the Super AMOLED screen. Likewise, the 65 Watt SuperDart fast charge is one of its undeniable assets.
In order to contain its price, Realme had to make some savings. Without any possible doubt, they relate to the photographic aspect. Although not bad, the rear camera is a bit disappointing, especially when compared to that of the realme 8 Pro 5G. The images remain good, but in our opinion, could be improved. A bit like autonomy, in the average of what the competition offers.
6. Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro
It’s corked, under the 300€ mark! After the Redmi Note 10 Pro slap a few days ago, the POCO X3 Pro invites us to reshuffle the cards.
But it is not that simple. Because this new model enjoys absolutely crazy performance for the price demanded by its manufacturer, it suffers from other aspects which, when combined, make the proposal less attractive.
Ultimately, the POCO X3 Pro is mainly aimed at people who want to enjoy beautiful graphics on their favorite games for not too much money. For everything else, whether photography, autonomy, lightness, or the accuracy of the colors of its screen, we remain firm: the Redmi Note 10 Pro is a much better option.

7. Nubia Red Magic 5G
If the gaming smartphone is part of a niche market, it must be admitted that this Redmagic 5G has some advantages that could get it out.
Displayed from €579, it is nothing less than the most affordable 5G smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 865 and a 144 Hz AMOLED screen on the market.
For gamers, it’s a little gem. A monster of performance, it offers thanks to its haptic triggers a real competitive advantage on FPS. Next to that, we will, unfortunately, have to deal with a radical design and a software part that is totally off the mark.
Smartphone gaming: the answers to all your questions
Where are the iPhones?
It did not escape you, we deliberately excluded the iPhone 13 from our comparison. Yet they are among the most powerful smartphones on the market and the best for gaming. But Fortnite, surely the most popular mobile video game, has not been available on the App Store since August 2020. Under these conditions, we preferred to advise you of the smartphones that are running the best mobile games of the moment.
What is the most powerful Android phone in the world?
The answer to this question changes as quickly as new phone models hit the market. Today, the most powerful Android phones in the world are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor. In September 2021, the AnTuTu benchmarks tool placed the nubia Red Magic 6 Pro at the top of its ranking, followed by the ROG Phone 5 and the realme GT.
The processor, key piece to watch?
If you’re buying a smartphone for gaming, one of the key things to look out for is the processor it has. More precisely the “SoC” includes the processor and the GPU. All the models that we have presented to you in this comparison have a sufficiently muscular SoC to run all the games on the Play Store in excellent conditions. At this point, you can no longer be mistaken.
Which phone to play Fortnite?
Phones stamped “gaming” are actually very similar to other mobiles with high-end processors. Phones that market their gaming capabilities often have a more aggressive design, beefier cooling system, and a few software optimizations. But let it be said, this will save you a few performance percentages at most. Not all smartphones in our selection will do the trick to run Fortnite in good conditions. As we mentioned in the introduction, only iOS devices prevent you from playing Fortnite.
Should I play with the touchscreen or a controller?
Playing with a controller offers great comfort and a competitive advantage over those who play titles like Fortnite with the touchscreen. Yes, but it’s not that simple. To take the example of the Epic Games title, all players who connect a controller to their smartphone to play it are grouped together in online games with other players with controllers… on PC and consoles! Machines are much more powerful than smartphones and which give a definite advantage to those who use them. You have been warned.
