Earlier this week, social media giant Facebook began testing its new cryptocurrency wallet. Just days after the test began, WABetaInfo saw evidence of integration into Novi Wallet’s WhatsApp.
According to WABetaInfo, Facebook is testing Novi Wallet support for the WhatsApp, which will allow users to send and receive payments directly through the app. The screenshot below shows the evidence found in the latest beta version of WhatsApp.
The screenshot shows how Novi’s integration will allow WhatsApp users to add their bank accounts or link the card to their WhatsApp accounts. Cryptocurrency wallet of Facebook will also allow you to withdraw money from your bank account and view your transactions and balances. However, only the code for this feature has been integrated for internal testing. Therefore, it is not possible to use the service at this time.
Facebook has launched a small-scale pilot test that allows users to send and receive money via a stable coin called “Pax Dollar (USDP)”. It doesn’t allow you to trade in Facebook’s own cryptocurrency yet.
According to WABetaInfo it’s not clear when this feature will go public. It is also possible that Novi Wallet’s WhatsApp integration will never see the light of day because there are “too many rules” to follow.
