The Higher Education Commission HEC has released the registration schedule for the entrance test for undergraduate studies. Candidates who intend to apply for the HEC Undergraduate Admission Test USAT 2021 are advised to meet the registration requirements mentioned by the Commission. The HEC will conduct an undergraduate entrance test for candidates who wish to enroll in undergraduate degree programs offered by universities across Pakistan. The HEC USAT test is modeled on the Academic Aptitude Test and covers all leading academic disciplines in Management Engineering, Medicine, IT, and Social Sciences at the undergraduate entry level.
HEC USAT Test
Candidates who qualify for the USAT test will be eligible to enroll in universities in the offered undergraduate degree programs. The HEC has also provided information regarding the distribution of entry test scores. The test categories of all the subjects have been listed by the commission for the convenience of the students. The university will continue to announce its admissions independently and candidates applying to universities must submit a USAT ETC scorecard to join the weightage-based merit determination formula. A score of 50 or above will be considered for qualifying for the USAT test. The maximum score that any candidate USAT can get would be a perfect score of 100. Test Items Part-I Number (75 MCQs) includes 35 MCQs of Verbal Reasoning and 40 MCQs of Quantitative Reasoning and the allotted time for candidates will be 100 minutes. Part II will have 40 minutes and candidates will have to write an essay of 400-500 words (in English or Urdu).
Who can apply for the USAT test?
The HEC sets out the following eligibility criteria for candidates who want to take the entrance test for undergraduate studies.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent / Grade 12 education are eligible to apply.
Students who have taken the final exam and are awaiting the results are also eligible to take the entrance test.
Proposed test schedule
The test will be conducted on a quarterly basis in all major cities of Pakistan. Further tests may be arranged by the Higher Education Commission in case of any need. The ETC will upload the annual test calendar of the test and the candidates will have to register themselves through the online registration portal.
How to apply for USAT?
Candidates have to register on the web portal through the link provided by HEC.
In case of any queries while filling up the registration form, candidates can seek help from the HEC Regional Offices to seek a solution.
Submission of application consists of two steps which include completion of profile and submission of application and candidates have to fill and submit complete application form after entering the required details.
Only applications submitted by the Commission for testing will be considered. Unsaved and incomplete application form will be rejected.
The USAT test fee is Rs. 1200 / – per candidate who must deposit in the given account number in Habib Bank Limited.
Applicants are required to submit a copy of the fee deposit slip by courier to the given address such as Member’s House, HEC Sector H-8, Islamabad before the last date of registration. The USAT test fee is non-transferable and non-refundable in all cases.
The deadline for USAT Online is December 27, 2021, so candidates are advised to submit the application form before the deadline.
According to HEC, the entrance test for undergraduate studies will be held temporarily on January 9, 2022.
