As announced, the Honor brand organized a virtual presentation to announce the marketing of its very first folding smartphone, the Honor Magic V. It is presented as the  Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 , that is to say it has an external screen and an internal one opening like a book. The external display surface measures 6.45 inches and is curved like the most high-end mobiles.

It is in 21.3: 9 format against 6.2 inches in 25: 9 format on the Samsung mobile. It supports the HDR10 + format and Honor announces a brightness of 1000 cd / m² with a definition of 1080×2560 pixels. It is r afraîchi to 120 Hz.

The internal screen measures 7.9 inches when fully open, thus providing a large display area with a definition of 2272×1984 pixels compatible with HDR10 + and offering a maximum brightness of 800 cd / m².

Honor specifies that the internal screen supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz while that of the South Korean smartphone is 120 Hz. In addition, also know that this is the first smartphone (and moreover folding) to take advantage of IMAX Enhanced certification for adapted content thus allowing to have optimal settings for a most pleasant viewing but also in terms of sound since the mobile is DTS compatible.

What components for the Honor Magic V?

Technically, the Honor Magic V folding smartphone is equipped with the new 5G compatible Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip . It benefits from a capacity of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage space, the manufacturer does not specify whether it is possible to insert a memory card to go further.

For photos, the Honor Magic V has three 50-megapixel sensors . To take a selfie, it has a 42 megapixel sensor installed behind a punch on the external screen but there is also another 42 megapixel lens on the internal screen.

The mobile is powered by Android 12 with a new version of the Magic UI 6.0 software overlay. This is associated with the Magic Live platform developed by the manufacturer and is intended to be more responsive and learning about users’ habits to satisfy them in order to offer them adapted content and recommendations, depending on the activities practiced. We can also count on many options for customizing the interface. Multiple window support is also possible in order to be as productive as possible on the Honor Magic V’s large internal display.

Two well glued shutters and enough battery to last a day and a half

For security, the mobile has a specific chip to ensure the data stored within the device. For the hinge, the manufacturer has adopted a form teardrop at the hinge which should leave no trace when the device is opened, like the  Oppo Find N . The two flaps of the mobile are almost stuck when they are closed.

Note that the Honor Magic V has a battery with a capacity of 4750 mAh , divided into two units capable of supporting the load at 66 watts. Recall that the battery of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is 4400 mAh charging at 25 watts only but offering wireless and reverse charging. For its Magic V, the manufacturer puts forward a charging time of 15 minutes necessary to reach 50% of the total capacity but does not mention wireless or reverse charging. Honor has reinforced its device so that it can withstand drops up to 2m against the ground without sustaining damage.

The 256GB model will be sold for 9999 Chinese Yuan (over 277,000 Pakistani rupees), while the 512GB version will sell for 10,999 yuan (over 35,000 Pakistani rupees).

As such, it is also Honor’s most expensive smartphone ever.
