Chinese technology company Huawei has announced the introduction of driverless automotive technology by 2025.
According to the British news agency Reuters, an official of Huawei company has said that by the year 2025, it is planned to develop the technology of driverless automatic vehicles.
Huawei is the world’s largest manufacturer of telecommunications equipment. Despite US sanctions, Huawei is expanding its business into other technology sectors.
Wang Jin, a senior official at Huawei’s Smart Vehicle Unit, told the industry conference that “his team’s goal is to build driverless automobiles by 2025.”
Dozens of technology and automotive companies, such as Chinese Internet company Buy Do Ink, are rapidly working on the technology for driverless vehicles.
With the introduction of these automobiles in the market, major changes are expected in the transport industry.
Following the US sanctions on Huawei’s global smartphone business, the world’s largest telecommunications company has also started making electric vehicles.
Former US President Donald Trump has described Huawei as a threat to US national security. However, Huawei has denied the allegations made by the United States.
