James Web Space Telescope Took First Image of Star

The US space agency NASA has announced that the process of adjusting the alignment of the mirrors of the James Web Space Telescope JWST has been completed ‘Clean’  photograph.

The James Web Space Telescope JWST is the most powerful and expensive telescope ever sent into space.

It is a joint venture between NASA, the European Space Agency ESA and the Canadian Space Agency, and was completed in about 22 years at a cost of 9 billion USD.

The telescope was launched into space on December 25, 2021, reached its desired orbit in the last week of January 2022, L2 Orbit, and in February 2022 began the process of aligning its mirrors, which During the “JWST” also took initial test images of some of the stars.

Experts have taken this trend a step further: the alignment of all 18 constitutions of the JWST has been completely corrected. And now they are ready to work together as a huge mirror.

On March 11, a NASA team took a clean test image of a star from JWST to verify the alignment of the mirrors, which was further clarified by processing it with software using special algorithms.

Yesterday, NASA also released this photo and video through a press release. According to the press release, the performance of James Web Space Telescope “JWST” is in line with their expectations, and even better.

Over the next few weeks, James Webb will take more pictures of distant stars from the space telescope to further satisfy the alignment of the mirrors.

That is to say, it is to be hoped that this space telescope will start working on its original mission, as planned, or even earlier.
