Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdraon 8cx Gen 3 chip, this 13-inch laptop that weighs just a few pounds crushes the performance of the latest generation chip, and keeps you working for days.

Lenovo announced many new business laptops at the Mobile World Congress, but two of the most exciting are the smaller ones: the ThinkBook 13s Gen 4 i and the ThinkPad X13s Gen 1.

Lenovo says the brand new ThinkPad X13s Gen 1 is the first real Windows business laptop to run Snapdragon. The 13.3-inch 16:10 aspect ratio laptop has been in development for four years with Qualcomm and Microsoft. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 CPU, which according to the manufacturer is 85% better in processor and 57% better in graphics than the previous generation chips.

The previous laptops we tested with Snapdragon chips were still extremely thin and light and offered excellent battery life, but the processing performance was disappointing compared to Intel or AMD processors. The ThinkPad X13s should also offer excellent battery life, up to 28 hours. And since it works more like a phone than a normal laptop, it is designed without a fan, with a 13 mm thin body made of 90% recycled magnesium and weighs 1.1 kg. The ThinkBook 13s Gen 4 i is Lenovo’s thinnest ThinkBook ever, weighing 14.9 mm and weighing 1.3 kg. It aims at small and medium-sized business markets. The 13s have an uneven metal shell that meets Mil-Spec standards. So although it is intended for SMEs, it may be suitable for students or anyone who wants a small, robust and very light computer.

The laptop can be configured with 12th Gen Intel Core i7, 32GB memory and up to 1TB SSD for storage. You can also get it with Wi-Fi 6E and a full HD webcam with privacy shutter. Like the rest of Lenovo’s business laptops, the ThinkBook 13s has a 16:10 aspect ratio display, and has a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels.

The latest version of this laptop released by Lenovo came with the AMD platform, so its USB-C ports were not compatible with Thunderbolt. But, since it is an Intel, its USB-C ports are Thunderbolt 4. It has an HDMI output and is designed to instantly connect it to peripherals with a power supply, an external display or a single cable.

Lenovo also announced the new ThinkVision M14d, a portable 2.2K 14-inch 16:10 USB-C display, the perfect companion to the ThinkBook 13s Gen 4 i (or X13s for that matter). The screen is tableable and height adjustable, and weighs only 600 grams. Combined with the 13s Gen 4 i, the total weight of the display package will be just over 1.8 kg.

Lenovo also announced several other updated models in its ThinkPad lineup, including the 14- and 16-inch P-Series workstations, its T-Series ThinkPads 14- and 16-inch models – its Leap. Topline most popular professional – and ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5.
