A mission sent to Mars by the European Space Agency 19 years ago has been threatened by Microsoft Windows.
27 years ago today, on July 14, 1995, when an American technology company, Microsoft, introduced a modern operating system for computers called Windows 95, no one could have imagined that Windows would be the next technology in this field. The storm will break.
Much of today’s technological advancement is due to Windows, which has taken computers to all corners of the globe.

In October last year, Microsoft introduced the latest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 11, which is now being used in most countries of the world.
But in this race for technology, if you are asked to update to Windows 98, you will surely find it a joke.
But it has become a matter of life and death for the European Space Agency (ESA) as they have to update Windows 98 on a spacecraft orbiting Mars at a distance of 200 million kilometers from Earth.

ESA’s Mars Express mission sent a spacecraft called Mars around Mars about 19 years ago and now some major updates are needed.
In this regard, the ESA says that the purpose of sending Mars is to search for water on the red planet and this search will accelerate after the update of Windows 98 this year.
With this update, Mars probes will be better able to locate Mars and its moon below the surface of Phobos.
The mission was launched in 2003 to better understand the past, present and future of Earth’s neighboring planets.
Until the spacecraft was designed, Windows 98 ruled the world of operating systems, and Mars was designed using a development environment based on Microsoft Windows 98.
The Mars Express mission team says we face many challenges to improve the performance of Mars. The only solution is to upgrade the devices from Windows 98 to the European Space Agency’s March 2022 software.
The new software includes a full series of upgrades to improve signal quality, onboard data processing, and the quantity of scientific data sent to Earth.
