Motorola Become Third Largest Smartphone Brand

Lenovo-owned US mobile maker Motorola has become the third largest smartphone brand in the United States for the first time.

This is according to a recent study by Counterpoint, a technology research company.

According to the report, last year saw a 131% increase in sales of Motorola smartphones.

According to the report, Motorola accounted for 10% of all smartphones sold in the United States in 2021. Motorola came in second in the market for phones priced below 400 400, while Samsung topped in sales of premium smartphones.

Samsung is the second largest smartphone brand in the US with 22% share.

The report, released under the name MarketPlus Service, states that Apple, the US technology giant, topped the US smartphone market.

Apple accounted for 58% of total sales in 2021.

The report states that Motorola’s coin was in circulation in the US market in 2008 when feature phones were at their peak, at a time when it was the largest name in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) handset in the US.

South Korean company LG has played a key role in Motorola’s recent success, as the gap created by its exit from the market has been filled by Motorola.

Last year, LG announced the closure of its non-profit mobile division, saying, “We are shutting down mobile phone manufacturing after a loss of about USD 4.5 billion in six years.”

The report also states that the main reason for the increase in Motorola’s sales was the introduction of Moto G Styles, Moto G Power and Moto G Pure models.

All of these models were offered for sale for less than 300.
