Punjab Department of Higher Education HED has announced winter vacation in all public and private educational institutions of the province.
According to the official notification, all schools, colleges and universities in Punjab will remain closed from December 21, 2021 to January 2, 2022 due to cold weather in the province. The institutions will reopen on January 3, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Provincial Conference of Ministers of Education (IPEMC) will be held today under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood to finalize the winter break in the educational institutions of the country.
Reliable sources have revealed that IPEMC will consider the proposal which recommended closure of schools, colleges and universities in the country from 15 December 2021 to 16 January 2022.
On the other hand, the governments of Sindh and Balochistan have already announced winter break in educational institutions.
The Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) had issued a notification of closure of educational institutions from December 20, 2021 to January 1, 2021, while the Department of Secondary Education of Balochistan (BSED) had announced closure of educational institutions in the summer zone from December 22 to 31.
