According to the decision of the Punjab government, public and private schools in government districts like Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Sahiwal, Nankana Sahib, Chakwal, Jhelum, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Kasur, Pakpattan, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Rajanpur and Vehari will be open 4 days a week.
Starting May 24, 2021, school authorities will be allowed to call students in on-campus classes with 50% attendance on alternate days to spread colivirus epidemics. The decision to reopen educational institutions in other districts will be taken at the next meeting of the NCOC.
The government has informed the concerned authorities that SOPs should be properly implemented in all schools. All teachers and students should wear masks to maintain social distance.
Since March 2020, educational institutions have been closed for an extended period and annual matriculation and intermediate examinations have also been canceled due to COVID-19.
