Punjab Govt Announces To Open Transgender Schools

Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass has announced to open schools for transgender people across the province.

On the micro-blogging site, Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass said that we are going to open schools for transgender people in different cities including Multan.

These schools will be opened in every district after Multan. He said he had also met various groups of transgender people and persuaded them to bring them to schools. This project will be launched under the name of Sense of Protection.

In this regard, the South Punjab Education Department has started work on Pakistan’s first pilot project to provide education to the trans community, where eunuchs will be able to get education without any fear. Focal person Eunuch Bilali says that this is a good initiative of the Punjab government.

In the past, when eunuchs used to go to school, people used to talk about various things. Now, if they get a separate school, they will be able to study in a calm manner.
It is also worth mentioning here that under the pilot project, eunuchs will be able to get education in the evening hours. Educated members of the transgender community will be assigned to the teaching duties for a sense of security.

Education CEO Shamshir Khan says that for the first time in Multan, education measures are being taken for transgender people. There are more than 30 eunuchs who want to get an education.

After the announcement of the Punjab government, the eunuchs said that getting free education to live in the society is no less than a blessing. Under the project, transgender people will be provided education in the first phase and employment in the second phase.

After Multan, schools will also be opened in Lahore and Rawalpindi under this project.
