Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Officially Released

The immediate successor to last year’s Redmi K40 Gaming, unveiled today in China and we are talking about the new Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that comes with Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and offers incredibly fast 120 W charging. It is also the first Xiaomi phone to launch a new in partnership with Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team will be available in a special limited edition phone bearing the logo and colors of the racing team.

Redmi K50 Display Specs 

The Redmi K50 Gaming features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 480 Hz touch sampling rate. The panel produces 10 bit colors and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

As with last year’s K40 Gaming, there is a pair of physical gaming keys on the right side. The phone also comes with a tactile Xiaomi CyberEngine x-axis engine and JBL dual speakers. The phone has a metal frame while the back is made of glass.

Redmi K50 Gaming Phone Camera Specs

There is a 20MP Sony IMX 596 camera on the front, while on the back there is a 64MP main Sony IMX 686 camera, an ultra-wide 8MP lens and a 2MP telemacro camera.

Redmi K50 Gaming Internals 

For extreme use scenarios, Xiaomi has developed a brand new dual chamber steam (VC) cooling system to keep the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and other components under control. It starts with a copper system mounted just above the chipset. Xiaomi also used double toner sheets, stainless steel and mesh materials.

In order to keep everything open, there is a 4,700 mAh battery with a 120 W charge that Xiaomi claims can be fully charged in just 17 minutes. There was a demo on the scene that showed that the phone took 37 minutes to reach full charge. Its software is MIUI 13 version based on Android 12. Also, the phone has WiFi 6E and NFC connectivity.

The Xiaomi Redmi K50 Gaming comes in blue, silver and black as well as a Mercedes AMG F1 version.

Redmi K50 Price 2022

The base Redmi K50 Gaming model with 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB ROM UFS 3.1 costs $ 520. There is a 12/128 GB version at $ 567 and a 12/256 GB version at $ 615. The limited edition Mercedes AMG F1 model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage will be sold at $ 662.
