Samsung Galaxy Phones Source Code Hacked

Samsung has been hit by a cyber attack that has allowed hackers to gain access to the company’s internal data, including the operational codes of Galaxy smartphones.

This was stated in a statement issued by the company.

The statement came after a hacking group, Lapsus, recently claimed that it had gained access to Samsung data by stealing details from the Nvidia Corporation network.

Samsung has not yet identified who hacked the systems, but steps are being taken to prevent further damage.

A statement from Samsung said hackers had gained access to the company’s specific internal data.

According to the statement, preliminary analysis revealed that the attackers gained access to some of the source codes for the operation of the Galaxy devices in this cyber attack, but it did not contain the personal information of our users or employees.

“Right now we expect that our business or customers will not be affected by this hacking attack,” the company said.

“Steps are being taken to prevent such incidents and we will continue to serve our customers uninterruptedly,” Samsung said.

The hacker group posted a 190GB torrent file on its Telegram channel on March 4, claiming that it contained secret Samsung source code that could undermine the device’s security systems.

According to him, the data also includes algorithms used for biometric identification in Samsung smartphones, while bootloader source code bypassing operating system controls is also part of the data.

The hacker group tried to blackmail Nvidia and threatened to leak data if the company did not remove the cryptocurrency mining limit for specific GPUs.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
