The teaching process in government educational institutions in Islamabad has resumed after the strike was called off by the teachers.
The Federal Government Education, Joint Action Committee has clarified that the protest has been postponed after the Local Government Ordinance provided written evidence regarding the assurance and amendment of section 166 to bring educational institutions under municipal corporation.
The boycott of classes has ended for a month. If the assurances given by the government are not implemented then there is a right to protest.
At the meeting of the Joint Action Committee, Chairman Fazal Molly said that he boycotted the class for ten days and also held a large gathering in front of the Parliament with all his teachers and non-teaching staff in which all the employees had the same demand that the Municipal Clause 166 of the Corporation Ordinance should be repealed immediately.
In this regard, during the talks with the representatives of the Joint Action Committee in the Ministry of Education, written evidence of the amendment was shown and it was assured that apart from removing the clause, the amendment will be sent to the Prime Minister keeping in view the concerns of the employees. But the Joint Action Committee announced the postponement of the protest.
