TiKTok Made Highest Revenue in Q3, 2021

Covid-19 Outbreak appeared to have intensified during 2020 and 2021. However, now that vaccine outsourcing has become commonplace, mobile app use is on the rise once again, but revenues are still growing.

The latest report from Sensor Tower shows that smartphone users spent a total of $33.6 billion on mobile apps in the third quarter of this year. It was a combination of the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, which includes in-app purchases as well as various subscriptions. This is an increase of 15.1% compared to the third quarter of 2020, in which people spent a total of $29.2 million.

However, growth has slowed significantly as 2020 represents a growth of 32% compared to 2019.

Apple’s App Store brings in the highest amount at 21,21.5 billion, up 13.2% over the previous year. The Google Play Store lagged behind with 12.1 billion, but that was an impressive increase of 18.6%.

TikTok was the highest grossing mobile app overall. It was also the first non-Facebook app to have 3 billion monthly installs. It was the highest-grossing mobile app on the Apple App Store, but Google’s own Google One app topped the Play Store.

Piccoma took second place, and YouTube and Disney+ also made it to the top five in terms of total revenue.

Mobile gaming is still booming, with people spending a total of ₹22.4 billion in cash, up 7.7 percent from last year. The majority of that revenue came from the Google Play Store (13.1 billion), followed by the iOS App Store ($9.3 billion).

PUBG still tops the list of mobile games in terms of mobile revenue. The game has grossed over ₹5 billion in its lifetime and includes Game for Peace, the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. Another Tencent game Honor took second place for Kings and Genshin Impact is at #3 despite being only one year old.

Genshin Impact was the highest-grossing app on the Google Play Store, while Honor for Kings took the lead on the iOS App Store.
