WhatsApp is currently experimenting with increasing the file size from 100MB to 2GB. Argentine users of the latest beta version of the app have noticed this change.
WhatsApp continues to test new features and delights users who share great videos. Our WABetaInfo colleagues, who are a reference, in this case, have discovered that tests are being performed in Argentina to reduce the file size limit from 100 MB to 2 GB.
Note that this change currently only affects a few Argentine users who use the latest beta version of the app on iOS or Android.
So far, WhatsApp has not officially announced the arrival of this size increase. But if it becomes official, the social network will reach out to Telegram, which allows files to be shared up to 2 GB.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has introduced its “Linked Devices” feature. This enables simultaneous network access for up to five devices. The connection is maintained even if the main device is no longer connected to the Internet. This makes it easier to use the web version of the app, for example, on a laptop. This function was launched in beta in September 2021.
