How many Oceans are there in the world? Do you know the answer to this question?
So far, there have been 4 oceans in the world, the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Arctic Ocean.
On the occasion of World Oceans Day, on June 8, National Geographic officially declared the Southern Ocean (South Arctic Ocean) the 5th Ocean on Earth.
For the past century, National Geographic Magazine has been responsible for mapping the world’s oceans, and for the first time, it has mapped out a new part of the oceans.
So why was it given a new identity? The answer is that the water of this region is so different from other oceans that it can be given a new ecological identity.
Southern Ocean has an amazingly fast tidal current that separates it from the waters of the North Sea.
The current flows rapidly and moves from west to east around Antarctica.
Within its borders, the waters of this ocean are less salty and colder than others, allowing Antarctica’s temperature to remain at a certain level while warm water is drifting away.
Seth Saikura Body, a marine scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, told National Geographic that everyone there has a hard time explaining why the ocean is so amazing, but they agree that it is different. ۔
Along with the change in geography education, it is important to remember that this new Southern Ocean is very important in the fight against climate change.
It is important to know more about its waters and the effects of climate change on Antarctica.
So the next person asks you how many oceans there are in the world and what are their names, remember that now this number is not 4 but 5p.
